NANOWRIMO!

Soooo it seems that I'm a tad crazy... haha 50,000 words in 30 days... Wish me luck?

Day 24 of the Photo Challenge

Okay, so yes it's true I technically failed with the whole photo for every day in one month, but you know I may as well finish this thing! Here's a photo from the class that had the excursion to Melbourne libraries. No, it's not any of the libraries it's the HEADLESS HORSEMAN!

He was sitting outside the State Library and provided us with a bit of entertainment as he scared people and ghosted people then got on his horse carriage and went away!!

The Misconceptions of Library Workers

Wow, it's been a while. I've been so busy lately that I totally forgot about all my photos! I'll have to continue sometime soon hopefully.

Firstly, the news about the library course is really sad. I understand how difficult it is in a world which is constantly based on money money money. I feel our course is very much worth it - I think the library industry is oh so very underrated. I guess we will all have to hope they can sort something out for all of us.

Recently I've taken on more hours at the library (I work about 3 days a week plus relief work) And I'm loving it of course. But the most interesting thing I find is the different reactions I receive from library members. As I now work different days I encounter the customers who are regulars and when the see such a young face working behind the desk their response is either positive or slightly negative. Most people will look at me and express their concern as they think I'm too young to be working in a library (my fellow staff members are taking offence I think =) ). Another frequent comment I receive from people is the ever-amusing "I suppose it's pretty easy reading books all day". Everyone that works in a library (especially public) will back me up on the fact that you usually have no time at all to read a book. Noone seems to believe this, though.

Looking forward to this weekend's unit as my library is looking for me to provide some input into events for youth in our library.

Day 23 of the Photo Challenge

It has been a while, but I've been quite busy! I now have more hours at the library I work at, which makes me very happy :) And, of course, Twilight Saga: Eclipse was released =D This photo was taken after I came out of the movie (Love, love, love, loved it by the way). It was foggy everywhere and the lights look so awesome through it, especially with the freaky trees :) Hope everyone is enjoying the 'holidays'.

Day 22 of the Photo Challenge

So, I'm kind of giving up on the whole updating every day thing, aren't i? I just don't have that much interesting going on obviously :)

Absolutely FREEZING here today. So really tried to stay right in front of the heater. Did make a trip to the library though. Start working more hours next week which I'm really excited about! One step closer to the dream job =)

This picture is of my tea tonight. So very interesting. It's my own creation called a Mega Pizza Schnitzel :) It's DELICIOUS. Even if my parents look at me weird hehe I took it via my phone so quality won't be that great. Although, I found out I could control my computer via my phone while trying to blue tooth this picture to my computer. Oh technology, you develop the weirdest things.

Hope everyone enjoys the holidays!! =D

Day 21 of the Photo Challenge

So, I missed yesterday. I'm not going to post one for then, because I didn't actually take one. Don't know if that means I failed the challenge but I'll pretend it doesn't. I'm fighting the flu at the moment so staying inside and watching a lot of tv, but I'll post one today because it's my dear dad's birthday :) Happy Birthday Dad!!

Day 20 of the Photo Challenge

The Hamilton pool in the wintertime... A home for ducks. haha =) Anybody for a swim?
